With great regret, the ACER team records the untimely passing of our valued colleague and friend Joe Hartman of Boise State University, at the age of 62 on December 25, 2004.

The entire team was looking forward to working with Joe and benefiting from his knowledge and experience of sensor systems. We have lost not just Joe's invaluable technical expertise, but also his wisdom in general, great kindness and wonderful sense of humor. Joe's obituary lists some of his many remarkable achievements.

Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to Joe's wife, Mimi, his family and colleagues at Boise State University.

As a mark of our respect, the team has chosen to dedicate our Sensor Workshop to Joe's memory.
